HEYTOUR HAWKS defeat TIGER BROKERS Tigers 4-3
With both teams winning in Round 1, the tie between the HEYTOUR Hawks and TIGER BROKERS Tigers was one that promised drama to the very end.
Abhinav Manota opened the campaign with clean wins in the Mixed Doubles and Men's Singles, to take the Hawks to an early 2-0 lead. Despite the Hawks’ 3-1 lead, the Tigers’ Justine Villegas seized her opportunities well, claiming the Women's Doubles and Mixed Doubles with partners Sally Fu and Edward Lau respectively.
With the tie level at three matches apiece, a Golden Game was in order. With Men's Doubles selected, it was Manota and Dhanny Oud for the Hawks, taking on the Tigers' Lau and Dacmen Vong. In a game of narrow margins, both pairs held match-point opportunities before the Manota and Oud snatched a two-point lead, awarding the Golden Game and the tie to the HEYTOUR Hawks.
